Campus is Moving Again

It is time for Percival Blakeney Academy to pull up stakes and travel to a new campus location. It looks like the great powers that be have decided that it is time my kids actually spend some of their school years in the mainland United States. So once again it is time to clean all the cupboards, make massive trips to the trift store and make sure all the professional books are properly marked.

I will only be doing light blogging until we're resettled, sometime after the new year. I would promise to catalog our re-entry and holiday celebrations, but I'm cutting back a lot of my responsibilities and blogging is going to be one of them until I've taken care of essentials like packing up one home and finding another.

However, I do reserve the right to drop in and post some fun pictures of our travels in Japan and Europe that I've never gotten around to chronicling. I just don't promise that they'll be in any sort of order other than because I felt like it.

Ooh, well, I would definitely look forward to pictures, random or not!

Good luck with the PCS. Will your kids know how to act in the mainland or will they be overwhelmed? ;) Of his 8 years, Indy has spent the majority of them outside of the US, and seems to be awed when we actually are in America. He also wants to know where to he can find a good soft pretzel and some schnitzel. :)

If you're looking for Bretzeln and Schnitzel in Germany, then I'd suggest just about any Christmas market for the Bretzeln. There was also a bakery chain that specialized in rolls made out of pretzel dough. Warm with butter - yum.

Schnitzel is probably best found in any local Gasthof. We used to tell the kids that it was a giant chicken nugget. Usually served with a huge serving of hot fries.

I might also suggest the cone of fish and chips that Nordsee sells. That's pretty good for a shopping trip too.

Oh, and odd as it may sound, I swear the world's best Kartoffelpuffer are found at Izzy's deli in Cincinnati. Actually better than any I had in Germany.
